Growth analysis (Tillväxtanalys) recently presented its latest report: The development of the Swedish life science industry–statistics and analysis. The number of employees is increasing most in West Sweden.
Between 2014 and 2016, the number of people employed in the life science industry in West Sweden (VGR / Halland) increased by 529. As such, we are the second biggest region in Sweden and account for 19.2% of employees in the industry.
Digital health is an area that is growing rapidly. Many more companies are now active in this segment. The report also shows more information and communication (ICT) companies.

The Swedish authority for growth policy evaluations and analyses, Growth Analysis (Tillväxtanalys) is commissioned by the Swedish government to analyse and evaluate Swedish growth policy.
The Stockholm region (incl. Uppsala and Södermanland) accounted for 50.6% of employees in the Swedish life science industry in 2016. In Skåne the number was approximately 15.5%.
