Innovation and knowledge in conjunction with good entrepreneurship is tributed when Sahlgrenska Science Park, for the third consecutive year, is awarding a prize in Nobel laureate Arvid Carlsson’s honour.
Arvid Carlsson, who was awarded the Nobel Prize in medicine in 2000 for his “discoveries concerning neurotransmitters in the nervous system”, also founded the company A. Carlsson Research at Sahlgrenska Science Park in Gothenburg.
– With Arvid Carlsson Award by Sahlgrenska Science Park, we want to draw attention to promising entrepreneurs. We also want to stimulate competence development and networking in the global life science arena, ” says Charlotta Gummeson, CEO, Sahlgrenska Science Park.
The winner of this year’s prize will be announced on September 26, when the 14th Park Annual is arranged with the theme “The future of health”.

– This is a great honour. It means a lot to us, said Kristina Lagerstedt at last year’s award ceremony. On September 26, 1928 Diagnostics will be back on stage and hand over the trophy to the new award winner.
Nominees are appointed after the nomination procedure and then selected by the jury. The jury, consisting of the board of Sahlgrenska Science Park is representing the business community, the University of Gothenburg, the Sahlgrenska University Hospital, Chalmers University of Technology, the Västra Götaland region, the City of Gothenburg and Mölndal’s City.
