Hello Ragnar Lindblad – who is featured on the MedTech Magazine list of the 100 most powerful MedTech profiles 2018. What do you think about the first mapping of AI companies in West Sweden?
“It’s an interesting overview that shows the breadth and dynamism in the region. We have a lot to learn from each other, across industries. At the same time, it’s important to embrace diversity and a variety of driving forces. The health care sector is information-intense. We have to make use of new technologies to develop new skills and to make sure existing ones become more accessible.”
You are a doctor, entrepreneur and now responsible for digitalisation in Region Västra Götaland. From your perspective, what is the current biggest challenge?
”The challenge is that digitalisation in the health care sector relates to a completely new playing field when it comes to the individual’s own ability to manage her/his health and illnesses. It changes the role and terms of health care in a way that we have to get acceptance for on all levels. Everyone wants to be part of it and change, but are we willing? When it comes down to it?
